How Co-op Works
- One player starts a world and becomes the host.
- The host invites friends via Steam's friends list or the in-game social menu.
- Friends join the host's world. Both players need the same game version.
- All players share the world. Resources, enemies, and structures are shared.
- The host must be online for others to play. There are no dedicated servers.
Offline vs Co-op
| Mode | Requirements | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Single-player (Online) | Internet connection | Standard solo play |
| Single-player (Offline) | No internet needed | Added in Patch 0.1.3. Launches automatically without internet. |
| Online Co-op | Internet connection + host online | Up to 6 players. Host must stay online. |
Offline Mode was added in Patch 0.1.3. You can play solo without any internet connection. Co-op still requires online connectivity.
Progression Sharing
| Progress Type | What Happens |
|---|---|
| Host's world | Persists between sessions. Host keeps all world changes. |
| Guest's character | Guests keep their character progression (levels, inventory). |
| Guest's world changes | May not carry over to guest's own world. Needs verification. |
| Demo/Playtest saves | Do NOT carry over to Early Access. Everyone starts fresh. |
Important: The host's save is the "real" save. If the host loses their save, the world progress is gone for everyone.

Save Behavior
- The host's save file determines the world state.
- Guests keep their character data but may not see world changes from co-op in their own solo world.
- Steam Cloud saves are supported. Your save syncs across devices.
- Some players report save file issues. Manual backup of the save folder is recommended as a precaution.
